I like the looks of this toy. It is made well and will last quite a while. What I don't like is the fact that there is a button on bottom which when pressed on ironing board causes lights to flash and a noise like steam. The problem is it requires quite a bit of pressure to depress this button - more than my 2 1/2 year old can understand to apply while "ironing". It would be much better if the button was on top of the iron and could be pressed with a finger.
Just what I was looking for. My 2 yr old loves this and I got this because she was always in reach for the real one. It makes this steam vaporizing sound and lights up red!
It looks realistic and is of very good quality. Down side is that you have to manually push the button on the flat surface to make the noise and for it to light up. When you are play-ironing, it's impossible to push down hard enough for the noise and lights to work. My kids got bored with it pretty quickly b/c I wouldn't let them put water in the squirter. When they hold it the wrong way, I get to clean up the wet mess.
This iron allows my daughter to be just like mommy when she irons. At least one of us is having fun! The sounds are very real and the water spray is quite the novelty. . . though I do not fill it up often. We are pleased with its performance so far. . . hope it lasts for a while :)
