I shopped for these Melissa and Doug puzzles online after purchasing a 24 piece one for my daughter who will turn 3 in a little less than a month. She started getting interested in puzzles when my husband pulled out a 1000 piece puzzle which she sat and "helped" him with for hours. She mastered the 24 piece one in a day and was putting it together in minutes. I had already priced out the 48 piece ones at the stores in the area and was amazed when I found this 2-pack for the the price of one puzzle at the toy store. I am starting a home day care so I bought the other 2-pack also. From reading other reviews I sat and opened the puzzle packs with an exato knife in hand to carefully separate the pieces and remove any wooden splinters before turning them over for use. A few minutes well spent. She assembles them in the tray and not having a picture to look at doesn't seem to bother her (The picture is on the back of the tray). The colorfull pictures are engaging and the puzzles are durable well worth the money I spent.


My 4 year old and now my 9 month old daughters LOVE the Melissa & doug puzzles! My 4 year old pulls them out at least 3 or 4 times a week. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has kids! Great product, very durable, colorful and great for little hands!


My '5' year old preschooler got these puzzles for Christmas. She loves them. She does them over and over again. I am very impressed with how well they are made. I would definitely by other products by this company.


This was bought for a 5 yr. old. When she took it apart to put it together, the top layer of thin wood (on which the design is glued?) broke off on several of the pieces. I had to glue them back on and don't know if they'll stay or if others will come off. Very disappointing from the usual quality of Melissa and Doug products I've come to expect.


These puzzles are very good quality and fit together perfect. They are so colorful and are better than anything else I've seen in the stores. The picture is on the back of each board so my daughter knows which puzzle goes on which board after she's dumped them both out on the floor. These are a little much for her to do completely as she's almost 3, but we have lots of fun doing them together for now.


These Melissa and Doug puzzles are gorgeous. My 4 year old daughter LOVES puzzles and she adores this set. She received it today and she finished it rather quickly, where her 5 year old sister had a harder time. This is a nice challenging set for kiddies that are no longer challenged by the 24 piece puzzles but can't move onto harder ones.

It is a nice wooden set and extremely durable! Beautiful!!!


I was very disappointed that these puzzles had no picture to follow. I bought them for my 3 year old grandaughter's birthday. She's a whiz at putting puzzles together but it is very difficult for even an adult to do without a picture. There is a small picture glued on the back but it is impossible to peel off. Very unhappy about this purchase.


This is a great puzzle with enough pieces to be a challenge and great for a younger child to start completing with help and move on to complete it alone. It is extremely sturdy.


I bought one of these at a street fair and my 2 1/2 year old son took to it immediately and could never put it down. These puzzles are the sturdiest I've come across, all the pieces have wooden backs so they do not bend or tear. They also fit snuggly enough in the frame that you can hold it upside down and the pieces will not fall out. I wound up buying all of the 48 piece ones, and am anxiously awaiting some new ones.


Melissa & Doug puzzles are fabulous! The are made of wood so are long lasting and durable. The illustrations are original and attractive, although all the puzzles look similar which is one of the only negative aspects. The fact there is no picture to follow makes these puzzles very challenging, but not so difficult to be impossible! Also, they are good value for the money.

We first gave our three year old daughter a 12 piece puzzle which she did over and over again until it drove us crazy. She became so good, we decided to give her the 24 piece puzzle which she also could do without assistance. Then we bought the 48 piece puzzle for later when she is older, but at her insistance we ended up openning one of these puzzles as well. It was too hard for her to put together by herself, but we enjoyed working together on the puzzle so I give it the "adult friendly seal of approval".

We bought this puzzle set for my son's 3rd birthday. He was very fluent with 24 pieces and we wanted to challenge him a bit. But we were wrong:) After we finished the puzzles with him couple of times, now he finishes them under 5 minutes all by himself. Still, he absolutely loves to do it over and over. He loves his puzzles. The puzzles are very colorful, sturdy, and very high quality. I would definitely recommend this for a 3 year old child maybe even younger. These are my son's favorite toys now.


My 3.5 y/o son just loves to do these puzzles! He never gets tired of them and does them over and over again.
I love that they are wooden and not cardboard which never lasts with young children.


These puzzles are beautifully done with vivid colors & design. The only negative comment is that the pieces come out with some difficulty the first time & on 2 of the pieces paper tore off & we had to glue it back on. I think its a matter of being very careful the first time. Otherwise, well done!


These puzzles (bundled) are a great deal and present the potential for hours of fun for little ones. With some help, our two year old throughly enjoys these; they're just complicated enough to keep her coming back to try them time and again, but not so much so that they're overwhelming or defeating. The wooden pieces are very durable but the paper picture on top can peel up easily if picked at (as often happens with toddlers). A good stick of glue will keep these puzzles looking like new for years.


These were really nice puzzles, although one became slightly warped (we live near the sea). The pictures are very bright and beautiful and there are many things to talk about with your small child. Great learning toy!


I always love Melissa & Doug products because of their durability and this two puzzle set doesn't disappoint!!

My 4 year old LOVES puzzles and had quickly graduated to 48 pieces, so we decided to give these a try. SHE LOVED THEM AND does them so quickly. We now need to move on to the next size. The pictures/colors are gorgeous and so different then all of the other puzzles out there.

Another great thing is that they are housed on a wooden board with a ridge and each piece is made out of wood. No more puzzle pieces being bent in half by her 2 year old brother! The best part is the fact that we are offered two 48 piece puzzles at this amazing price. The only con is that we purchased both sets and now there are no more.

Highly recommend because they are a wonderful value and will last for many years for other children.


My daughter loves these puzzles! She plays with them every day to every other day and loves identifying which one is her favorite pirate and animal. I highly recommend these puzzles!


we got these after our son mastered the 12 and 24 piece puzzles and was soon bored with them. after showing him how to put these together a couple of times he mastered these. he was only a little over 2 at the time. at 2 1/2 he still enjoys to take these out and put them together, usually faster than mom and dad can. so, even though the recommended age for these is 3 and up i think you can start earlier.


This bundle is definitely worth the price. The puzzles are of really good quality. The pieces are a little stiff when you first pull them out but they go together perfectly after you losen them up the first time you do the puzzle. My daughter loves these two puzzles. The bright, fun colors are really nice as well. I wish I had more puzzles like these two. You really can't go wrong with "Melissa & Doug!"
