I'm very disappointed in this doll because of the following:

1. The doll can get moldy inside, although the package says it comes with a antibacteria lining and you don't have to change water other than once a month. Once it gets moldy, it's ruined because there's no way to clean it thoroughly and check that for yourself - you can't see the inside of the doll. I checked on the company's website all over for ways to clean it and didn't get anything either.

2. Filling the doll with water is very tricky. You have to manipulate the funnel really carefully and it takes a really long time - at least 15-20 minutes to fill it decently. Small kids definitely can't do this on their own so this becomes the mom's job, as if she didn't have enough to do.

3. The doll becomes really heavy and hard for small kids to hold. If you let out some water, it doesn't feel as full and fun.

I totally regret this purchase. Feel like I spent way too much time trying to make this doll work rather than having my child enjoy it. Would not recommend this to anyone.

When I read about these water babies, I thought it was a neat idea. It would be just like holding a real baby! But, when we added the water, the doll became too heavy for my two year old granddaughter to hold for long. Maybe, we have to let out some of the water or something. But, I feel that is a drawback for younger children. It's still a beautiful baby doll, but I could have waited until she was older perhaps.

My daughter fell in love with this doll even before we took it out of the box! It's so soft, even without adding the water. When you add the water, though, it takes on the heft of a baby! My little girl loved it so much that I decided to get others as gifts for the other little girls in my life. No one has been disappointed. I also love the fact that it doesn't need batteries or diapers or anything but your child's imagination. I think it's the perfect toy. And so does she!

We purchased this for our 2-year-old's birthday a few months ago, and it has received a reasonable amount of use. Having read some of the reviews, and knowing how much our daughter LOVES dolls, we thought it would be a much bigger hit with her than it was. The construction seems first-rate, and any concerns I had about the doll leaking water were quickly dismissed. It is an attractive and life-like doll. However, a few things caused me to lower my rating. First, it is a bit challenging figuring how much water to add to the doll without making a bit of a mess - not a big deal, especially since filling only needs to be done once (or at least very infrequently). Second, it lacks the soft, cuddly feel that a dolls made from other materials have. Third, a doll's ultimate value is in how much the recipient appreciates it. In our case, neither our 2-year-old nor any of her slightly older sisters have taken a fancy to the water baby, even though some of them have a doll with them most of the day(!). That's not to say that other kids won't enjoy this, but this has been our experience.

We had an older waterbaby and my little one would want it where ever we went. So I picked up this one and 2 others for her 1st birthday. She loves them. Even filled the 9 inch waterbabies are still light enough for her to carry. She loves to hug the doll and give it kisses. It was well worth the money I spent on it.



This was also how we taught her to walk we put all her water babies in a play stroller and she would push it all around the house.

I purchased this for my almost 2yr old as a Christmas present. It is the perfect size and weight for her. My 3yr old loves this doll, as well. The fact that it is so life-like amazes my girls. My girls can usually tear a toy up in no time. However, they are not able to get the nozzle open on this doll. My baby sister had one of these over 15 yrs ago, and this one is just as durable as the old ones. I will probably purchase more of these.

My little girl got this for Christmas and she loves it. The skin is soft and when filled with warm water, it does feel somewhat like a real baby.



That having been said, I was a little disappointed. It was alot smaller that I thought it would be and filling it with water was a little messy. I'd recommend taking the doll's clothes off BEFORE filling with water. That may be a no brainer for you but for me...oops! The baby had to be swaddled in a blanket for a couple hours while her clothes dried.



My niece had one of these and my sister said hers busted and she had to throw it away. So far we haven't had that problem. I told my little girl what happened to her cousins doll and I think she's been extra careful with it. If your child is old enought to understand this (mine is 6 years old) you probaby won't have a problem either.



The important thing though is that this is my little girl's new favorite baby, If you have a little mommy, I'm sure she'll love this doll too.

The doll is so sweet, but it has another function, she is warm like a real baby. I bought her for my granddaughter age 5 but I keep her here at our house so she has a real baby to play with when she visits. The only problem with the baby is that her clothes are difficult to remove and put back on. I have to do it for my granddaughter since it takes a bit of dexterity and muscles to do so. Other than that little thing, I wouldn't hesitate recommending this darling baby to anyone.

I bought this baby several weeks ago for my four year old and was going to put it away for Christmas. She is a beautiful doll. My only complaint is that she was much smaller than I had anticipated. I remembered the water babies being bigger in size and after doing some shopping I found a much larger one at a local store. The larger doll I purchased was not only cheaper than this one but also will be more suiting for my daughter who likes to dress the baby in other baby doll clothes/diapers etc. I have both now, and I am sure she will love both, but my intuitions tell me that this smaller size doll will take second place to the life-like larger water baby.
