I got this set and the birthday cake set for my 4 yr old niece for her birthday. Her Mom said she loves them and has a lot of fun playing with them. I thought they were adorable and couldn't decide which one to get so I got both.
Fun toy! The cones, scoops, and ice cream are all magnetic so makes it a lot of fun "scooping" the ice cream onto the cone. Big hit with all the kids (2-8 yrs.old) A little pricey, but worth it because I know it will last.
My 2 year old got this for Christmas because all 3 of my boys (6, 4, and 2) love pretending to make me ice cream cones. They love it! The magnets make it so fun for them to actually scoop the ice cream and they love coming up with different combinations of double-scoop cones to serve. I thought it seemed expensive, but I must say, it was worth the price. They constantly play with it and every friend who comes over loves playing with it!
I love that this set...and others like it. We got the cookie set and the ice cream parlor set. Both are fantastic. My girls (2 and 4) have been serving sweets constantly ever since. A month later we recieved the pizza and birthday party sets...and the girls are in love again. I think we are going to pass along our cheapie kitchen food now...no need for it now. Love these M&D sets!
THIS TURNED OUT TO BE MY GRANDAUGHTER'S FAVORITE CHRISTMAS GIFT. MY GRANDSON LIKED IT,ALSO. THEY HAVE REALLY ENJOYED PLAYING WITH IT.
This was a gift for a (4) year old girl, and she loves it. I didn't really think about why there are (2) ice cream scoops, but her friend, (also 4) came over, and both girls had a wonderful time swapping different "tastes" of ice cream. The magnets are surprisingly strong, and the girls were actually stacking ice cream (4) scoops high. Another Melissa and Doug A+ toy.
This has been a favorite of my two year old daughter's at a friends house, and now she has it for her own.
She loves making us icecream, asking our favorite and playing with it on her own.
The 2 yr old I bought it for LOVED IT. She sometimes doesn't use the scoop, but did grasp the idea of it. Plays with it both ways. Very durable, as it was dropped over and over again. Her 7 yr. old sister also enjoyed the set! I would highly recommend it. Again, not disappointed in something from Melissa and Doug. We have several...
My 3 year old received this gift for Christmas and loves it! It's a quality toy as you expect with Melissa and Doug. It gets dropped alot on our hardwood floor, but has held up just fine. You can stack multiple flavors on each cone. It gets played with alot, we've "eaten" alot of ice cream around here in the last few days.
My only complaint would be that I wish it had a lid for the container! I've had this same problem with other Melissa and Doug toys, they have a nice storage box but no lid. I also think that it would have been nice to offer two more cones, instead of one of the scoopers.
