After looking for a musical toy that was not annoying, off-key or obnoxious, we discovered this. Plays several songs by Mozart; baby can play a song with all instruments at once by pressing "orchestra" or one at a time. Baby can also turn off instruments one at a time. The instruments are clearly synthesized, but still, the quality is not bad and I could listen to it for long periods of time. I have yet to be annoyed by this toy. In fact, I may have to buy two - my twins fight over it constantly! My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it's a little bit loud. I wish there was a volume control.

The tunes are nice, especially for a childs toy. The various box panels light up as the music is played. The child can play with different combinations of sound as they hit the different panels on the box. Even when they don't know what they are hitting, they know that when they do hit it, it makes it change. The box is durable. I have watched it bounce down an entire flight of stairs and land on a hardwood floor without breaking. My 1, 1/2 year old loves this toy.

I didn't know how much my twin daughters loved music until I saw them constantly touching this cube. It was a gift and ever since they opened the package, they have been loving it. It's size is also very sweet because the girls also use it as a little seat :-)

When I was thinking about purchasing this product I did notice that some of the one star reviews noted that the sound was so bad they couldn't take it. But a lot of those reviewers also claimed to have a musical ear or were instrument players. I am not either so I figured I wouldn't be as offended if the sound wasn't perfect. Well I have to say some of the instruments do sound pretty bad. The violin sounds like a cheap synthesizer and the quality of the other instruments isn't perfect. But overall I like the concept and I like the toy and my 16 month old enjoys it too.

Read the positive reviews here and chose the Wild Planet Dino Magic Volcano Playset with Magic Egg as a gift for my godson who was turning 5. It was a HUGE hit. His mom called to tell me he couldn't wait to get home and open it and had lots of fun with the volcano and searching for dinosaur parts to put together. He said, and I quote: "This is the best present EVER!!" This was a month ago and he's still playing with the dinosaur figure. Although the volcano part only explodes once, he still plays with the base, too. Can't beat that reaction for a $10 toy.

I wrote a review on the eggs Dino Magic Mix N Match Parts (Color May Vary) used with this volcano base, and now I'm here to comment on this. Ill keep it short though since its a pretty basic item.



If you got the dino magic eggs, this base is great...but with that said its not a required accessory. Its very durable, and made of heavy plastic. I'm sure my nephew would have been happy taking the dino parts out of a Rubbermaid container but this really adds to the overall look and feel of the toy.



It has a water line, which keeps you from over filling and ultimately cleaning up a big puddle on your table/counter top. I was happy with the quality of the product, and would suggest purchasing it if your little ones enjoy the dino magic eggs!

This is a nice starter magic kit. It has a couple cheesey tricks, but overall it is a good set. My boys like using it and experimenting with new tricks.


My 8-year-old grandson was delighted that he could confound his parents with these tricks. After a run-through at Grandma's house, he was good enough to mystify them--and smart enough not to give away the secrets :) The tricks are well constructed and really fun (we found only one too complicated and one other a bit awkward). The overall quality of the set is outstanding--sturdy, well-designed, great decoration and most of the tricks are easy to master. The trick of guessing a chosen number from six tiles is truly a wonder. It improved his arithmetic skills and his parents never figured out how he did it. Most magic tricks in other sets are too hard to perform well and/or too obvious, so are not very fulfilling for the budding magician. This set is really clever.


I bought this for my 13 year old little sister. I thought she may be a little too old for this but she and her friends have thoroughly enjoyed performing for everyone. This set is very well made and looks like it will be around for a while. The only problem I see with the kit is the lack of a latch or some way to keep the box closed. All of the tricks fit inside nicely but there is no way to keep the box closed. I put a big rubber band around it to keep it closed and that seems to work nicely.


2 sets were purchased. They were for 5 & 6 yr old boys. They love them. It allows them to participate with their parents. At family gatherings the boys put on magic shows.


I bought this for a 10 year old boy that loves all things magic and was surprised at the quality of this product. The whole thing is wooden and made so well. It's very compact so pieces can't get lost. I highly recommend this piece. Needless to say, the boy loves it and every time I see him now, he shows me another trick. That alone is worth the price.


This magic set is well-made and lots of fun! My 7 year-old daughter received one from "Santa" and hasn't stopped showing her tricks to EVERYONE! Some of them are really cool and a few are a little hoakie....but hey, this is a set for kids after all, not professionals. It is made out of wood and very high quality. I gave it 4 stars for "educational" b/c children have to learn the tricks, which will really make them think about spatial relationships once they understand how the "magic" is done. I would definitely recommend this product.


This magic set is the best in the world. My 9 year old daughter can't put it down. It is extremely well made and durable. Sophisticated tricks yet simple enough for young children to *get* it. Excellent play value. Unbelievable value for the money. I wasn't expecting much and can't believe how they put this together for so little money. Leads kids to think and see things in new ways. A GREAT find.


My daughter has this set and she really loves it. Lots of tricks to keep busy and the case is a plus to keep it all in!!


Got this kit for Xmas at a different online store for <20% of the Amazon price. My 8 year old son and his lovely assistant (older sister) put on a great show, had wonderful time doing it and learned a lot in the process. But $99.95 is at least 3 times too much!
