Rumis is a great game for all ages...at least I can claim that in our house the age range is from 11 to 75 and everyone enjoys the challenge. It is easy to learn and follow, yet it has varying degrees of difficulty and no two games will be the same.
Building a three-dimensional block with rules for height and width, each player uses numerous odd-shaped blocks to be the one with the most points when you reach the top. There is not only strategy in conforming to the chosen design but in covering your opponents.
It is a very three-dimensional game, played on a turn table and changing at every angle with each turn so it keeps you thinking and rethinking your next move. Games go pretty quickly and can be modified to be easier or more difficult depending on who is playing.
We love Blokus and this is one step upwards. Check out this new twist and I bet you will enjoy it!
This game was a last-minute Christmas purchase. We like to open a board game or a puzzle on Christmas Eve, and this was a hybrid. It is now a family favorite. I never write reviews, but I had to for this one. Rumis is a relaxing and interesting game for any age.
A 3-D game for one to four players with six options that use spatial and intellectual abilities. Constructing multi-level structures results in mind building and surprise challenges. Smart choice for adults too. To me, somewhat pricey but am glad I bought it.
Rumis is a creative and fulfilling gaming experience for two, three, or four players who enjoy pure strategy games. It contains elements of Tetris Blokus, so experience with either of these games might serve as an indicator of your potential enjoyment.
The game comes with several different playing cards upon which structures can be built. This provides for many possible scenarios.
I have one suggestion: instead of conforming to the height suggestions in the two-player game, have each player take two colors and alternate turns.
We love this game! Our whole family can play from age 8 up to 40ish. You can play as single players or teams and it really makes you think and plan strategy.
This game is an instant classic as far as I'm concerned. Feels like a combination of chess and tetris. It is equally fun with 2, 3, or 4 players. The games don't take too long to complete. Despite having no element of chance, each game seems to turn out quite differently. Setup and clean-up are both fast. Little space is required to play compared to most board games. The different boards help provide some additional variety, although this would still be a great game with one board. My wife's favorite game, highly recommended.
