These are great spoons for feeding your 4+ month old. They are soft and easy to clean, they don't stain either. This price (currently $7.74) is nuts though. I got my set at walmart for about $3.xx. If you can, get them there, or I am sure if Target has them they would be similarly priced.

1. They are colorful and capture my son's attention- he really likes them.
2. Are a good shape for both my hands and his.
3. Hold a nice amount of food in the bowl of the spoon.

My husband has really big hands and he likes using these to feed our son. And because they're long and bright colored, my son will play with one while I feed him on his high chair. He'll even sometimes stick the end in his mouth but he always knows just how far he can poke it. The key is to not let your young child play w/ the spoon unless he's in a high chair.

When I first saw these spoons, I loved how they looked. They are colorful and fun. They seemed like they would be very practical, too. I generally really like Munchkin items. Everything else I have from them, has been great. But, the handles of these spoons are too heavy. Every time I set the baby food down, the spoon would flip out because of the weight of the handle. This usually resulted in baby food splattering across the room. Maybe, if I'd used wide bowls with them, this wouldn't happen, but I typically feed my baby straight out of the baby food container, since he usually eats the whole amount.
After scrubbing carrots off the wall, one too many times, I ended up buying the "The First Years-Take and Toss" 16 pack of spoons, as a temporary solution, for about $2.50 at my local Wal-Mart. I have been really pleased with them and have used them ever since. They seem to fit my son's mouth much better. And, they have held up well for many washings, are BPA free, are very cheap and come in assorted colors. I would recommend them instead....The First Years Spoons 16-pk.
