This came with two orange pieces and a missing green piece. This item has to be returned and then reordered through Amazon as they do not exchange this toy. The Castle Logix company was very hard to deal with just trying to get a green piece sent. It is a really great toy when the correct pieces are packed, but a pain when they are not.
I have given this toy to my son and all my nephews. It is simple and easy to learn, yet chalenging to all ages. A great block puzzle that we have found to delight the young mind.
My son received this for his 5th b-day. He loves it. It has many levels. He started out with the very easy level, now he's at the hard level. It will make you think. I like it myself as an adult. Its good exercise for any age brain. I am buying this for a nephew's b-day coming up. Its a toy that you can play anytime and over and over again. Good Toy.
This is a great game. I have 2 girls, 8 and 6 and they love this game. They love to build and solve problems and this game fits the bill. I love it because it helps them develop their problems solving skills and work on logic. This game is also great because my 8 year old will sit and do it on her own, following the game guide. Overall a great game. It is a little expensive, but well worth the money.
This is a really fabulous product. The wooden pieces are very well made and safe for the younger kids. My 5.5 yo loves it and will play with it for hours. It comes with a quality, colorful book. The puzzle that the children are supposed to replicate (simply by examining the picture) are on one page, the solution is on the back of said page. The puzzles progress into increasing levels of difficulty, and are labeled "starter, junior, expert, master". I do think this would be appropriate for children younger than 5, my 5.5 yo whizzed through the first two levels without much difficulty ~ but she still had a lot of fun doing them.
I really wish the solutions were in a separate book that the parent could remove from the area and only bring out after the child is truly stumped. As it is, its way too simple for the child to turn the page and peek. Other than that, its a perfect game that a child is able to play with alone, if desired.
I had bought this for my 4 1/2 year old son for Christmas but ended up opening it early because we got bored one afternoon! We had so much fun going through the pages of the little booklet, completing castle after castle. He was better at it than I thought he would be, and he loved doing the harder ones and shocking me by doing it by himself. "LOOK MOM!!!" :o) The wood blocks are excellent quality, and they fit easily back into the box each time.
