Product Description
It's the search and rescue mission that's out of this world! Become part of an outer space search-and-rescue mission in a race to identify stranded galactic travelers by the colors of their space faces. No two aliens are exactly alike, so players must pay close attention to detail during the mission. As aliens are being identified by the color of their eyes, nose, mouth, and face, players are sharpening their visual discrimination and concentration skills. The first player to rescue five aliens is the winner!Pro: Encourages memory development, visual discernment of various facial characteristics.
Pro: Can be played alone, too!
Pro: Great shaker thingy to change the "target" each time - easy to use and durable.
Pro: Lots of colors and funny alien faces!
Neutral: The game board looks very busy and confusing at first, but then you notice that there are concentric circles of aliens, so that makes everything seem less random and more logically placed.
We adults had fun finding the right face - it was pretty easy for us, but still a challenge to remember all 4 of the features we were searching for each time - "red nose, blue eyes," etc. without having to keep looking at the shaker thingy. My just-turned 5-year-old grandson had a little trouble with this at first until we gave him little clues to help him. For example, showing him which "circle" he could find the correct alien in (after we adults found it.) I'll bet that the next time I visit, he'll be a real champ at it!
I'm glad I bought this game for him - I don't think he'll outgrow it!
We have had this game for almost a year and it gets played regularly as a family, with the kids playing against eachother, and my son playing by himself. The great thing about this game is that my kids can honestly and frequently win. We make it a little easier for my 4yr old. He only has to find 2 of the four matching facial features, while my 7 yr old and the adults have to match everything. My 4yr old also likes to play the game by himself matching all four features. Its like a big alien I SPY. This game is great for teaching observation and attention to detail. We highly recommend it.
I first saw Space Faces played in my child's classroom. My mother-in-law, a reading specialist, was impressed by the pre-reading skills this game teaches, so she gave it to us for Christmas. We have fun playing this game, but I have to admit my kids always beat me.
This is a fun game. I play it with my four year old and he has fun trying to beat me. I got my game on sale at Target for about $8.00. I would never pay $30.00 for this game.
