I have three different Sea Monkeys Tanks and Sea Monkeys On Mars is my favorite one. It is easy to use and the colors enable you to see your Sea Monkeys very well.
I ordered the Sea Monkeys on Mars kit for my office, and I absolutely love it. I have had my tank up for about a month, and I have several adults swimming around. I really like the look of this tank. It's fun to watch them swim around the arches and the spaceship.
I have a million bubble air pump, and I use it on the days when I am at work. If you only have the aqua leash, you can attach a small air stone (from the aquarium store) to the end of it to make little bubbles. Put it in the water, push the air out, pull the aqua leash out of the water, get more air, put it back in the water, etc...
I feed them about once a week.
The instructions that come with the kit are not the best. Go to www.sea-monkeys.com for better instructions. There is also a forum at www.seamonkeymania.com that is very helpful if you have questions.
We did as the instructions said. Quite a few monkeys hatched, but quickly died off. There were only 3 left after we got to the first feeding day per the packaging and they were gone before we got to the plasma kit. The kids liked setting it up and watching them hatch, but quickly lost interest.
I love watching my seamonkeys in the Mars tank, but it is actually quite hazardous for them. Seamonkeys swim aimlessly and thus constantly bump into the little floating astronaunt. They often get injured and die prematurely. You can tell they are injured by a black mark or dot on them. At the very least if you insist on getting this, for the sake of the lives of your future pets, cut off the astronaunt by his attached cord. Otherwise I'd just recommend getting the empty standard tank. It's larger and allows for more seamonkeys to populate. You know, like the fish only grow as big and as many as their habitat allows.
I bought this product not knowing what sea monkeys were or what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. After just a few days, the "martian" environment was brimming with life. At first, I could barely see them and wasn't sure if they were alive or just particles floating around. Now I can actually see them from a few feet away, swimming around and doing flips.
They appear to be little shrimp-like creatures. I'd recommend this for youngsters as a primer before getting a more demanding pet. The maintenance is pretty low, but you DO need to do a couple minor things every now and then to keep them alive and prolong their lives. Supposedly they can live a couple years. We're at 1 month and counting...
I'm going to gets some sea monkeys but i want to get a whole set with everything inside it i found one where i can take my seamonkey -s and a aqua leash but i cant find a million bubble air pump but the million bubble air pump and the aqua leash look exactly the same can a aqua leash be used as a million bubble air pump.Please answer me someone anyone i reallly want to get it and how long can a sea monkey be in a portable container like the pink locket or the porta play pen for.????????????????????????????///
I think that sea monkeys are great pets. I really enjoy watching them toodle around in their care-free manor it is very relaxing. The tank is fun to watch them in it has a neat looking back ground. READ THE INSTRUCIONS THOROUGHLY SEVERAL TIMES IT COULD CAUSE A HEALTH CRISIS IF YOU DO NOT be sure to only feed once a week. DO NOT over feed it caused the resent death of all of my sea monkeys. You need to arorate the tank dayly, Aqua leash is adiquit put it in the water push DO NOT suck inward it will be inafective that way. Repeat several times. This tank is very reasonable. if you were to buy the ocean zoo aquarium (not that its bad or anything.) you would only recive 6 pieces; The instuctions, tank, water perification, eggs, growth food, and a feeding spoon. Not only do you get all of the above (the tank is different of corse.) you also get the plasma which i think is almost a most have. (this ensure good health, and also makes sea monkeys larger)You also get the Aqua lesh, a device used for; cleaning, areating (This is a must if you do not buy the "million bubles air pump or aqua lesh, although there are other methods, your sea-monkeys probly will die without this. Honestly, don't waste your money on the "million bubble" air pump this does the same thing IF used properly.)Also the Aqua lesh transports sea monkeys, this can be useful for evacuating a tank if the sever "black spots" dieses strikes or if you want to put them in the other acsesories (maze, life boat, play pen, aqua watch etc.) overall this is a very ecinomical tank.
I set up this sea monkey tank on my desk at my office. My baby sea monkeys are growing rapidly and are enjoyed by all my coworkers! Whenever I get stressed out, I just take five and watch the little guys swim around, then I am recharged and ready to jump back into my tasks. Thanks, sea monkeys!
