This was a great buy,the shipping was fast and the sea monkeys grow! you have to be careful where you put them,because they may get knocked over!mine didn't, but in my 4th grade class they did,so put them in a good are.


If you're interested in seeing how your kid will take care of these timeless pets definately go with this kit. It is the bare bones basic, compllete with water purifier, eggs, food and spoon, no more, no less. if your kid responds well to this one, then you'll want to upgrade to the more nifty kits.

one word of caution, if your kid has his/her heart set on a red tank, don't hold your breath. I ordered from this listing for the red tank and got a blue one instead. i'm grateful that my son was able to be more flexible when it showed up, after all it was the monkeys that he wanted more than anything.


it's great and all but there are two flaws that are VERY important:

1. this kit only has the basics, there are others which come with teeny little transportation tanks (sea-bubble pendant, wrist aquarium, etc..) with the same tank model and things (plus they come in kool colors; mine's pink!) this doesn't COME with any teeny transport tanks.

2. this (like every sea monkey tank that looks like this) is QUITE ill-balanced. be careful!

I'm a college student living in a dormitory. With classes, jobs, and other things I don't have very much time for taking care of a pet. The sea monkeys are great because they were easy on my budget, they don't violate any dorm policies, and they are EXTREMELY low maintenance. I'd recommend sea monkeys for any college kid or busy high schooler that wants a pet but doesn't have much time.


Sea-Monkeys've Been Around for some long time Now but None-the-less they are still fun to raise and a good science project for kids as they get to watch those pets whole life-cycle's , But this Sea-Bubble Product is even more amazing with the Sea-Bubble included inside the kit ,You can use it to carry your sea-monkeys with you and it doesnt leak or anything and good enough for sea-monkeys just remeber not to keep them there for too long :D

We got this set for Christmas in 2005. We started out rough, by actually spilling all of the water right before we were to add the second pouch. We decided to replace the water, wait 24hrs and go ahead and add the second pouch. We have had Sea Monkeys ever since then! They really are amazing little critters! We have seen them swim all around like they were high on life. We've seen them mate and also seen them die. We always have the whole life cycle right in the little tank, from pinpoint size to about an inch, they are impressive! We have never used the suction thing or put them in the travel egg, seems a bit cruel to me?? We enjoy them in the tank just fine. Good luck with yours, and don't give up, they are hearty little guys/gals.

I love Sea Monkeys. They are fun to watch grow. I've had the classic tall red tank and it was great. This tank is too squat and it makes it really hard to "air" them without the special tool that has to be bought separately. Maybe that was the plan....Anyway-I recommend the taller/thiner tank so it is easy to pour the water to "air" them. Be sure to follow ALL of the directions.


I bought this for my very curious, very animal-loving 6 year old. She was thrilled to have some pets of her very own. But, I wish I would have thought twice about the type of tank I was buying. While the concept is pretty neat, the lid does not stay put, and the tank is pretty shallow, which makes it scarey to move, even though you don't fill it all the way. I have two other, younger children, and the easy access is a very real concern. I would have preferred a lid that snapped on top to this. But, my little girl is thrilled that they are hatching, which they have done with less than ideal water conditions, although slowly.

She dropped the lid a couple times and it split, but didn't break. I was happy it wasn't the tank.

Overall, I gave this 4 stars, although I would have rather given 3.5 because 3 wasn't enough, considering the excitement level of my little one.


This was really cool and fun. I got this for christmas and there are so many of them!

A comment to the other review: You and your kids probably couldn't see the litte, teeny, tiny brine shrimp/sea monkeys. Either that or you or your kids crushed the eggs. Maybe your water was too cold.

Back to my review: This was a great experience and very fun!


Huh, these might be a huge scam, we bought 3 of these...carefully followed the directions on 2 of them, waited patiently...No Monkeys! My kids were so upset.....Didn't even try the 3rd set just to avoid their heartache and my frustration.....

I actually purchased this for a friend who does not have internet access. She bought it for her grandchild's birthday. She told me that everything was good quality. It arrived very quickly I might add. I remember these being the "in thing" for every kid to have when I was growing up. Glad to see they are still popular after all these years!

The main thing this item teaches you is that everything dies, and in this case ... far too quickly! Do yourself a favor ... buy a puppy or a cat instead, they'll live longer, and you'll have a lot more fun!


Sea Monkeys Ocean of Light is a great product! These are easy to care for little pets. This product is great for teaching about the life cycle of these little sea creatures. Just follow the instruction booklet. The light is great and makes the little baby sea monkeys easier to see. Kids love these!


Sea-monkeys are cool, and this set is also cool, but to own sea-monkeys, you need to be very serious about it, you need to care for them always, and if you forget to feed them once, or oxygenate them, or even the tiniest thing, they can die, this has happened with my sister and I for the second time, and this time they died after five days! So, I guess before you buy this set, you should be willing to take full responsibility for your little aquatic pets, perhaps make a schedule for feeding, oxygenating, etc. for your pets. Hope this helps!


Be careful of "astro-turfing"... people who are paid to write rave reviews about certain products... many of the positive reviews about this product are extremely repetitive and sound like they're written by the same person... so... just beware.


I don't own a sea monkey yet, but since I'm packed up on information from all who wrote a review. Yes I read all of them. Some were quite intresting. Okay back to business. I can tell this is immediately reccommended to children who are not allowed to have pets or kids who are allergic to furry pets, like me. The sea monkeys are itty bitty at first, then with the Plasmal 3 (I think thats what its called) they grow bigger in a couple of seconds, I presume or its a couple of minutes, huh. Oh well, the sea monkeys are very fast swimmers and thay don't like the diamond rocks. They fight over who gets the girl sea monkey. I don't think this kinda of true but they're cute. And the kit isn't all that good because it doesn't have all the good tools, and do not try to stick a straw down the aquarium and blow or you will get some sea monkey aphlea down your throat. (The person who said that I hope your okay)


they are great and fun to watch, just don't feed them left over peices of corn from your dinner plate


There SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ciute! They just swim and grow but I woud just sit there for hours!


Sea Monkeys are the best! They are so easy to raise! It only takes about a day to prepare the tank! Speaking of tank, the tank is so cool! It has a flip light, and lots and lots of magnifiers.



Sea monkeys are great for kids who are allergic to fur. Be careful to not spill the tank! And remember to feed your fine little friends!

I have three different Sea Monkeys Tanks and Sea Monkeys On Mars is my favorite one. It is easy to use and the colors enable you to see your Sea Monkeys very well.


I ordered the Sea Monkeys on Mars kit for my office, and I absolutely love it. I have had my tank up for about a month, and I have several adults swimming around. I really like the look of this tank. It's fun to watch them swim around the arches and the spaceship.

I have a million bubble air pump, and I use it on the days when I am at work. If you only have the aqua leash, you can attach a small air stone (from the aquarium store) to the end of it to make little bubbles. Put it in the water, push the air out, pull the aqua leash out of the water, get more air, put it back in the water, etc...

I feed them about once a week.

The instructions that come with the kit are not the best. Go to www.sea-monkeys.com for better instructions. There is also a forum at www.seamonkeymania.com that is very helpful if you have questions.


We did as the instructions said. Quite a few monkeys hatched, but quickly died off. There were only 3 left after we got to the first feeding day per the packaging and they were gone before we got to the plasma kit. The kids liked setting it up and watching them hatch, but quickly lost interest.


I love watching my seamonkeys in the Mars tank, but it is actually quite hazardous for them. Seamonkeys swim aimlessly and thus constantly bump into the little floating astronaunt. They often get injured and die prematurely. You can tell they are injured by a black mark or dot on them. At the very least if you insist on getting this, for the sake of the lives of your future pets, cut off the astronaunt by his attached cord. Otherwise I'd just recommend getting the empty standard tank. It's larger and allows for more seamonkeys to populate. You know, like the fish only grow as big and as many as their habitat allows.


I bought this product not knowing what sea monkeys were or what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. After just a few days, the "martian" environment was brimming with life. At first, I could barely see them and wasn't sure if they were alive or just particles floating around. Now I can actually see them from a few feet away, swimming around and doing flips.

They appear to be little shrimp-like creatures. I'd recommend this for youngsters as a primer before getting a more demanding pet. The maintenance is pretty low, but you DO need to do a couple minor things every now and then to keep them alive and prolong their lives. Supposedly they can live a couple years. We're at 1 month and counting...


I'm going to gets some sea monkeys but i want to get a whole set with everything inside it i found one where i can take my seamonkey -s and a aqua leash but i cant find a million bubble air pump but the million bubble air pump and the aqua leash look exactly the same can a aqua leash be used as a million bubble air pump.Please answer me someone anyone i reallly want to get it and how long can a sea monkey be in a portable container like the pink locket or the porta play pen for.????????????????????????????///


I think that sea monkeys are great pets. I really enjoy watching them toodle around in their care-free manor it is very relaxing. The tank is fun to watch them in it has a neat looking back ground. READ THE INSTRUCIONS THOROUGHLY SEVERAL TIMES IT COULD CAUSE A HEALTH CRISIS IF YOU DO NOT be sure to only feed once a week. DO NOT over feed it caused the resent death of all of my sea monkeys. You need to arorate the tank dayly, Aqua leash is adiquit put it in the water push DO NOT suck inward it will be inafective that way. Repeat several times. All in all, I have basicly told you every thing there is. This tank is very reasonable. if you were to buy the ocean zoo aquarium (not that its bad or anything.) you would only recive 6 pieces; The instuctions, tank, water perification, eggs, growth food, and a feeding spoon. Not only do you get all of the above (the tank is different of corse.) you also get the plasma which i think is almost a most have. (this ensure good health, and also makes sea monkeys larger)You also get the Aqua lesh, a device used for; cleaning, areating (This is a must if you do not buy the "million bubles air pump or aqua lesh, although there are other methods, your sea-monkeys probly will die without this. Honestly, don't waste your money on the "million bubble" air pump this does the same thing IF used properly.)Also the Aqua lesh transports sea monkeys, this can be useful for evacuating a tank if the sever "black spots" dieses strikes or if you want to put them in the other acsesories (maze, life boat, play pen, aqua watch etc.) overall this is a very ecinomical tank.


I set up this sea monkey tank on my desk at my office. My baby sea monkeys are growing rapidly and are enjoyed by all my coworkers! Whenever I get stressed out, I just take five and watch the little guys swim around, then I am recharged and ready to jump back into my tasks. Thanks, sea monkeys!
