My 3-month old boy loves this toy. If he is fussing, I turn on the radio and he is just mesmorized by the lights and sounds.
I bought this a toy a little over a month ago to keep at my house for my grandson. He plays with it steadily while he's here and obviously gets excited when I get it out and show it to him. He loves the lights and it didn't take him long to figure out to push the button to make everything work. He chews on it, he throws it down and then picks it back up, and always goes back to it if he left it alone for too long. Great toy, especially for the price. I'm glad I got it. It's one of Danny's favorites.
This has been one of my 9 month old son's favorite toys since he was a few months old. It's sturdy, having survived countless times of being dropped a couple feet. It's music is much better sounding than almost any other toy we have. It lasts pretty long on the same set of batteries. And it's great for bringing on trips out since it's light and small.
We love this! I bought it for my daughter when she was 9 months old to attach to her car seat when we were driving from GA to MN. It has 2 volume settings which is great. She very easily learned to push the big button and after a while learned to push it several times to get back to her favorite song. The lights are LED and fairly bright but by no means too bright for a baby to look at. They flash from one to the other of 4 colors and the "screen" in front of them diffuses the light so it's not like looking directly into an LED bulb. We recently started giving it to our now 11 month old when we put her down for a nap or to bed. She pushes the button several times and watches the lights flash around the room and then goes to sleep with out making a peep. Obviously, you may have a child who is excited by the lights, but they really don't flash erratically and the songs are perfect for fun and/or relaxing.
This is a great little toy. It can be held by the baby and it is musical as well as a light show for them.
This little "radio" is great. My 8 week old baby loves listening to it, and most of all, following the lights with his eyes. There are various snippets of upbeat classical songs that will calm your baby when s/he is fussy. I sometimes use it when I am nursing as well. At night time, in a darkened room, the lights/music work to soothe and comfort baby, ultimately lulling him to sleep. I love this product. It comes with batteries and is a steal at this price. It is simple, but invaluable. Highly recommended.
This is the one toy that my 2 boys (5 and 2) will fight over every single time; we had to buy 2 of them just to restore family harmony in the car. It's their default travel toy and they ask for it every time. Both of them love putting it up next to their ear and listening for 20-30 minutes just as much as they enjoy watching the lights.
This is one of the few music toys that plays music selections that are long enough for to be entertaining (and for parents that know the tunes, the pieces are not annoyingly edited or cut short). It's not obnoxiously loud, either, which is AWESOME for parents, and the batteries last a long time too.

I read the reviews and I bought this product because I couldn't find it at my local Walmart or Target. My 2mo old loved it and is entertained as soon as it's turned on, she loves the lights. She's now 3mos old and she bats at it with her little hand and manages to change the music. The music is not annoying and has 2 levels (high and low). The high is not too "high" and the low is not too "low". It is easily wiped down and small enough to carry but big enough to not get lost. It's about the size of my hand. It was a great buy and look forward to purchasing more items from baby Einstein.
I bought this for my son when he was about three months, and it got his attention right away. It is great having both the visual and sound aspect working together. He watches the colored lights move around and seems to enjoy the music. The music sounded better than I thought, not annoying, but actually fun and up-beat.
He is now now months, and he still enjoys it. I recently attached it to his crib rail cover, and he is able to stand up and press the button to start the music himself, very cute. This toy is entertaining for little ones, according to my experience.
