I bought this puzzle to keep on hand for my gr.daughter's visits; she will be 3 in a couple of months. She enjoys it when we sit together on the floor and piece it together. She is able to connect many of the parts by herself, and I imagine she will get better with practice. I don't know if her interest would last so long without an adult working along side her; however, that could all change as she becomes more adept. But, it is a lot of fun to work side-by-side; I can see the little wheels turning as she decides where to place a particular piece; there is definitely some reasoning taking place. I will purchase a couple more Melissa and Doug puzzles because they are much better constructed than what I have found in the discount stores. I am, however, disappointed that Melissa and Doug products (at least some of them) are now being manufactured in China. Of course, it is hard to find a 48 or more piece puzzle that is not. Oh,I do keep it out or reach because I don't want to lose any pieces! It would be great if they would create a site where you could order missing puzzle pieces.
My girls, both 3, really like this puzzle. They need some help with it, but they love to work with it. They are learning to keep trying and not give up when something is tough.
The puzzle came in quickly and in great condition. As with all of Melissa and Doug items - it was a hit and is of great quality. Can't go wrong - my 5 year old works it over and over and enjoys it every time.
