I bought it for my 7 yr old son after reading all the good reviews and boy I am so glad I did. Its fun toy, easy and excellent to teach your kid basics of electronics at the same time. My son kept on doing one project after the other. He is anyways too much into building/architectural/magnetic toys and always likes to talk about electronics/signals etc. I just wish they make a sturdier box and also provide simple basics of electricity/parts-resistance etc so that child can read and get attuned very early on. I wish I had this toy when I was a kid. Excellent product and great price!!
This is super fun and very educational. I play this with my 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter and we have a blast!
We got this for my son's 5th birthday. He LOVES it. We spent a little time showing him how to connect the parts and now he does it on his own. He can't read the book but, he can look at the pictures and put together all the circuits. He now wants to get one of the upgrade kits so he can create more circuits. The product is well made and I would recommend for any child curious about electricity and likes putting puzzles, legos, etc together.
This toy will go the distance.
My recipient received this on his ninth birthday. He played with other obvious action toys first but later spent much more time exploring this mulitlevel toy.
All kids will enjoy what they can "do" with this set but the added bonus is that older kids are opening new doorways--learning "how" things work. Make sure you have a couple AA batteries on hand.
The toy is grate only needs some book with explanation why it works particulary physics and electricity.
My Grandson 9 year old and he love this toy and using this toy he willilng to learn but not enoth of written material in the box
This was a gift for our 6 year old grandson for Christmas and he played nonstop for hours! By following the directions himself he was able to build a number of projects shown as well as come up with a few of his own. He was still building new projects from the instruction manual when we left 5 days later. I can not say enough positive things about this toy. It is very well built and will give hours of entertainment! I would highly recommend this toy to a child who likes to build and create.
My son is 8 years old and received this set for Christmas. He and his 14-year-old sister have had a blast making the included projects, as well as a few of their own (my son was teaching his sister what to do!). The pieces are sturdy, and I like the way you can keep items in their own place in the box. We may just think of purchasing the other, more advanced set Snap Circuits PRO SC-500 or the upgrade kit Elenco Snap Circuits Upgrade Kit 100 To 300. I highly recommend buying and playing with this product!
We bought this toy for our 8 yr old son, and he loves it. Plays for ever with it. The book that comes with it is do easy for him to understand and all 101 ways are in that book. He hardly ever asks for help. When he plays with it it helps him with concentration and following directions. I would advise that this is a great gift. My son will play with it and forget about his video games.
I purchased this for my 6 year old son and out of his many Christmas gifts, this was the biggest hit by far. Our 8 year old daughter loves it too. The instructions are very easy to follow. Our 6 year old is a beginning reader but he can use the pictures included with the written instructions to complete the projects. The kids have even come up with their own projects and have so much fun they don't even realize they are learning!
I bought this for my 6 yr. old nephew and it was a hit. He really has enjoyed trying the different designs and making them work.
