This is a great puzzle! It gives a chance to teach both shapes and colors to your little one, all while they are learning to solve puzzles. Behind each puzzle piece is the corresponding color to remind you child which piece shold go where. My son received this puzzle for Christmas, and he plays w/ it so much that I will be buying one for my godson's B.Day this spring.
I bought this puzzle as a filler item so I could get free shipping on a CD. We gave it to our 16 month old son for Christmas. A month and a half later this is still one of his favorite toys, it really keeps his attention. He plays with it more than most of the other toys he got for Christmas. It doesn't light up, make any noises or play any irritating songs so it has become one of my favorites as well. It is a simple wooden toy with bright colors that is very sturdy.
My son loves this toy and it is helping him to learn colors and basic shapes. My only negative comment is that it can be mangled by little teeth. I wanted wooden toys for my children - I guess this is a price worth paying!
Not only does the puzzle teach hand-eye coordination but it teaches colors and shapes also. My little one also uses the large knobs as teething toys. I do make sure that the knobs are attached securely before and after to prevent any choking hazard as they are not made for little mouths. My older daughter likes to play with them also.
This was a gift for my one year old grandson. He likes to take the shapes out and replace them over and over again. It's fun to watch him enjoy playing with the puzzle.
I am a big fan of Melissa and Doug puzzles. My daughter is 14 months and this is a perfect toy for her. Puzzles are great toys to encourage problem solving skills and Melissa and Doug craft puzzles that will endure the test of time with toddlers. Two thumbs up!
This puzzle is great for little ones. Once they have mastered the puzzle placement, you can then work on puzzles and shapes. Be careful with babies putting the pieces in their mouth, the paint chips.
We received this puzzle for our son's first birthday and he loves it. First he could just do the round piece, but now at 18 months he can do the whole puzzle. The large wooden knobs are securely attached and great for chewing. The colors are still bright and not peeling. We have since given this puzzle as a gift for two other one year olds, and have received rave reviews.
This puzzle is very well made, sturdy and colorful. My 12 month old granddaughter loves it. The knobs on each piece make it very easy for her to play with the pieces. This toy is one of her favorites.
My 11 month-old received this for Christmas and really enjoys it! The sizes of the knobs are great...and I really like that they have incorporated the names of common shapes into the puzzle itself. This is great for any young child beginning puzzles!
