I purchased this when my daughter was a baby and she is a toddler now and still playing with it. My other todder (4 yrs) loves to hide the stacker rings and play with them as well.

My son received this stacker as a Christmas gift at 18 mos old. He loves playing with it and it has helped us teach him colors. HOWEVER, within the first few weeks the paint on the red ball topper began to bubble and chip off. So badly so that I won't let my son have it. The paint has also started to chip off some of the rings from normal use (he is very gentle when playing with it). While my son has a lot of fun with this toy, I am very disappointed in the quality. His Melissa and Doug jumbo peg puzzles seem to be holding up much better. I have written to the company about this issue and asked for a replacement.
This toy is fantastic and my toddler loves it!! This stacker is great for stimulating a child's imagination and teaching order. I have purchased many Melissa and Doug products and they are always fabulous! I wanted wooden toys that are made in America and these are the best by far! No worries about lead paint or child labor!
This is a good educational toy. I bought it for my 9 month old granddaughter though she was not too interested in it yet. Probably better for 1 year old. The toy was smaller than I thought it would be.
MY GRANDSON LOVES THIS TOY. BRIGHT AND COLORFUL. VERY DURABLE. I DID NOT REALIZE IT ALSO MAKES A GREAT HAMMER OR WEAPON TO USE ON HOUSEHOLD ITEMS OR OTHER PEOPLE.
I ordered this rainbow stacker after reading several great reviews. My 13 mo. old daughter grabbed for it as I was unpacking it, so I think she's going to love it. HOWEVER, I am disappointed in the quality - several of the rings are stuck together by paint. The ones I have been able to pry apart have paint stuck on them (blue on yellow for example) and the purple & yellow ones I have not been able to pry apart yet (neither has my husband!) I'm sure they will come apart eventually, but personally I would not give this as a gift due to this quality control issue.
The smallest ring is too small for my one yr. old grandson. The product is very sturdy.
We got this stacker as a gift from my mom, and I specifically asked for it. It's a great toy for infants and toddlers - bright, safe and sturdy. It encourages coordination and color recognition. My daughter figured it out by 13 months, and played with it on and off for the next 3-4 months. Now it stands on the shelf and gathers dust, but I am not willing to part with it for sentimental reasons.

Our daughter really enjoyed the neighbor's Fisher Price price version of the stackers, so we thought wood would be a more durable material in addition to getting more rings. We were surprised that the two smallest rings were SO small, but were quite pleased overall. She loves to clack two stackers together for a while before sliding them onto the base. This provides plenty of entertainment for her as she learns about colors and relative size.
